Inspired by Nature, Amicoat’s antimicrobial technology aims to reduce hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) by offering a highly effective alternative to legacy antimicrobial technologies without inducing resistance, while being biodegradable, safe, and sustainable.
Our origins
Amicoat was founded to bring our innovative next-generation antimicrobial technology to medical devices. With origins above the Arctic circle at the Arctic University of Norway in Tromsø, our founder Prof. John Sigurd Svendsen and his colleagues began researching antimicrobial peptides in the 90s.
Founded on innovations from world-leading research into antimicrobial peptides we continue to innovate and introduce the next-generation of antimicrobial technology to medical devices.
